Firstly, there was a problem with my order, but you e-mailed me to keep me informed of its progress and offered to hasten it if I had a pressing need to receive it promptly. I have just received my panel leggings & tried them on – they are fantastic!
I read the accompanying leaflet requesting feedback so here we go …
I don’t have the best legs and am in my forties so I usually only feel comfortable wearing tunics/long jumpers with jeans. These leggings look amazing & I have now rediscovered several ‘abandoned’ tunics to wear with them – I can’t wait to wear them!

I thought everyone was trying to cut down on needless packaging and I now have the job of disposing of the box by way of recycling. I was in when the postman delivered the box (it was too big for the letterbox) but if it had come in a plastic envelope it would have fitted easily and wouldn’t have mattered if I had been out. The item is not fragile and smaller packaging is surely much more economical and better for the environment.

“Hi, I love your pajama trousers – in fact I just bought 2 more pairs in the sale – but I’m going to have to take a needle and thread to add elastic into their waistbands because the sizing is very strange (small is apparently very small, but ML is too big for me unless I do the draw string right up (I’m a 14).
If I do the drawstring right up, I can’t take them off without untying them, and the retying them again, which wd be fine for normal trousers but is a right faff when you’re half asleep.
So: without suggesting you revise your entire sizing chart, it’d make your pajamas significantly more enjoyable if you built in a partial elastic waistband, maybe around the back. You don’t have to lose the drawstring (I get the aesthetic), but it’d save me having to alter them every time I buy a new pair… it does take the edge off.

The clothes are fantastic I’ve ordered so far my only criticism recently would be that next day delivery turned out to be the day after due to the Olympics. I had an email confirmation along with the page where you choose the type of delivery saying after 2pm however the main page (which I missed) said 12pm due to the Olympics. Dear Laura, The care labels on the garments are dictated by an independent laboratory and they always tend to err on the side of caution. The washing instructions that we publish are more realistic – we have machine washed our PJ’s here plenty of times on a low temperature (30 degrees) and have not had any problems, so as long as you have confidence in your washing machine I would encourage you to ignore the care label. It arrived in super-quick time, in a really neat box (I placed a similar order with someone else, which arrived in 2 flimsy, torn boxes. First impressions counted on this occasion!).The clothes were so nicely tissue wrapped they almost looked too good to open,& although I’ve not tried the clothes on yet, they feel like they’re nice quality, in lovely natural fibres …sometimes not so easy to find now.
The addition of the newsletter was a surprise. Nicely presented, suggestions for dvd’s, cinema, & even a recipe & in a completely relaxed manner (pushiness makes me want to run so far in the opposite direction) is such a nice touch!
The attention to detail,even just handwriting my name on the newsletter,makes the whole online ordering thing,just a little bit more personal,& those little things really do count…

“I received the wrong item in my delivery and the service to fix it could not have been better; I was sent out a replacement to arrive before 1pm the next day together with a free returns label. As it turns out, the replacement is too big and I need to exchange it and again this was processed efficiently, pleasantly and without any fuss.

As a Hush virgin and having posted my order over the Easter weekend, I was staggered and delighted to receive my parcel last Friday – packed with such care and individuality too.
Can I also give you three cheers for using Royal Mail. If I miss a delivery, their dead-letter office is only a five minute stroll away. That’s much more convenient than those courier companies with initials for names who expect you to negotiate an automated labyrinth for re-delivery and then stay in all day and wait. And who have depots in the middle of nowhere.
The clothes are brilliant; well made, comfortable and a good colour palette. You’ve got yourselves another customer and I’m off to order more stuff. But will it ruin your street cred if I tell you I’m an OAP? I’ve got the bus pass and everything!

Going out shopping for me is about much more than just the items that I buy. “I thought I should give you feedback on the stretch t-shirts which I have just reordered. My last batch is a couple of years old and very much loved and worn masses. These new ones are shorter, have a different neck (which I like actually) but are a much thinner fabric and less fitted. The arms are much baggier and generally they are not nearly as useful as the old style ones. I did not order any last year so they may not have been changed recently but if ever you were considering changing them back I would be a big customer!”

“Hi, I bought a pair of pale blue dogtooth brushed cotton PJs a few years ago, they have been very comfortable and of a very good quality. I decided to buy some new ones, the snow drop and also the white floral ones. But choosing a size was very difficult for me as I am a size 8-12 in PJs and there is no longer a size XS. I love my new PJs but they are a bit big. So there’s my feedback, hope it’s useful. “The tissue paper, the nice scent on everything, the newsletter with a handwritten name, all lovely, but unless you are getting the basics right, sadly, count for nothing. I ordered a long length vest in size S/M, it said S/M on the invoice I received, yet the actual vest was a M/L. I spoke to a delightful girl in customer services who apologised and said she would send the correct size out immediately. 10 days later, a package arrived…with once again the wrong garment in it! This time not just the wrong size, but the wrong top altogether… a long-sleeve t-shirt. Not only is it disappointing, it’s tiring – frankly it’s sloppy. Love your stuff, but your internal communication is clearly below par. Interestingly, both wrong garments were packed by the same person. Perhaps she is having an off day(s). I’m sure there are lots of unemployed people out there who would love her job if she isn’t interested in doing it anymore. Sorry to sound so cross, but I am. Hush packages should be treats to coo over, not annoyances that need sorting.”

I’m originally from Norway where the winter period is ALL about wrapping up and keeping warm, so these types of clothes were right up my street. “I received the brochure as a mailshot and normally I don’t ‘go there’, however I really liked the laying casual look, varying textures along with the colour schemes and thought I’d give it a go!
The parcel arrived in good time and the clothes were beautifully wrapped. The idea of having a personalised newsletter made it all the more personal, great marketing!
The customer services by phone was a very pleasant experience too and, as a rarity, I felt the company offered the small boutique service and attention but with on-line purchasing.
I have to send a couple of items back as they were overall too large for my petite frame size 6 really and 5’1″. The long sleeve v neck T didn’t look the best quality but was very soft, I’m slightly dubious of how it’ll wash as the care instructions say cold, careful machine wash, which for a white cotton T shirt is rather delicate – so I’m hoping it gets any marks out well on a cold being white in colour and that the garment keeps its shape.
Overall the brochure, clothes and service tempted a normally defiant mailshot shopper so that is saying an awful lot!”

The many photos showing different looks put together were so useful in helping me choose my colour combos, so thank you for those. The fog is a great colour – with navy it becomes a grey-blue and with other colours it’s a true grey.

“I recently attempted to order from Hush for the first time and having decided on the lovely products I wished to purchase in your brochure, went to your website to place my order.
The order went through to the payment page and I duly entered my credit card details and was then directed to the Barclaycard Secure page. Unfortunately there was no confirmation of payment notification and the basket page reappeared. My husband then attempted to pay using his card and again the same thing happened.
When I phoned Customer Services the following morning I was greeted by a very friendly lady and she explained that the website must have frozen and the card purchase was not processed. Happily, my trousers, sparkly bracelet and soap arrived this morning (within the 3 working days) and I am very pleased with them.

“I love this skirt, it’s just the right length (i.e long enough to wear with bare legs if you are over ahem… 30.) It washes fantastically well, even when you spill stuff down it (oops) and keeps its shape really nicely. The cut is flattering and the fit is spot on. I was hoping that from my big order that I would not like something and be able to send it back but I loved every single thing and now hush has become my staple wardrobe, from the school run to relaxing by the pool it covers everything and now my husband is busy harvesting I can relax in the PJ’s. Even he is impressed as my ‘slouchy’ clothing now has style and he is not embarrassed by holey tracksuit bottoms and scruffy jumpers!

I also purchased a pair of angora socks which i like, however wish there was some elastane in them as they stretch badly and cannot hold themselves up on my legs, instead slipping down around my ankles.

“I love the quality and style of Hush products but the sizing is frustrating. I am a size 14 so am finding your S/M clothes a bit snug but your M/L clothes rather baggy. This does not matter for things like pyjamas but I have just returned a Tank which was just huge on me and, in my opinion, could in no way be described as fitting a size 14! Please would you consider producing clothes that are made to fit a specific size rather than a range of sizes? I am really cautious about ordering from you now because if I keep having to pay to return items that don’t fit, I won’t be able to afford to treat myself!”

It fits, and hangs, beautifully, and looks far more expensive than it even originally was so with the sale price, I really am very pleased.

“Love your style but find your sizing a bit odd and inconsistent. Generally I need your extra small but sometimes it comes up very small. In my latest order I’ve got a mix of XS and S/M. The XS in some styles is bigger than your S/M, it is very deceptive. Your colour representation can also sometimes be misleading for example on the tulip skirt I have just bought. I the photos it was quite hard to distinguish between the grey and the khaki, in reality they are very different.
Overall I’m a fan though.”

“I just wanted to say how delighted I was with my PJ’s. Each catalogue that has arrived I over the previous months I have longed for them. Thank goodness, I was able to get them in my size in the sale.
The fit is excellent and I love the pockets in the trousers. My only piece of feedback would be that the button holes weren’t finished to the standard I would expect. At least 5 of them I had to trim the treads just to be able to undo the top to put it on as they seemed sewn on.”

“When placing an order recently it was disappointing to find that the money for my goods was taken from my account approximately two months before the goods were dispatched. Furthermore I was not notified of the delay on the order until after the money had left my account, and when their was an additional delay I was not notified at all. “I’ve just ordered some leggings from you – I thought your service was excellent, speedy and good packaging with a personalised touch! Unfortunately I had to send the leggings back (again, very good service as returns were paid for by you, and I got a very quick e-mail telling me my money had been refunded) But the catalogue didn’t show the top of the leggings and how low they came, which was why I didn’t like the fit, and from the photo of them laid flat (not being modelled) it wasn’t possible to see how they would look on, as in the other photos the models had tops on which covered the top part. So the only small complaint I have or rather suggestion I’d make is that it would be really good to have photos which show the whole of the garment and the fit. I know they look different on different bodies, of course, but at least it might be possible to get a slightly better idea.”

“Finally I found a vest top with support built in so that I can happily lounge at home without a bra on!!!! I bought one in every colour that you do. They appear fairly good quality – perhaps a bit over-priced with a 10% discount, it made them a bit more palatable. The medium is more suited for a size 12 so they are a little on the big side but otherwise no complaints.”

“This is the first time I have used your website – very pleased with the products and the help I received on the phone when I called to ask about sizing. Some items had to be returned but only because they did not suit. Loved the pyjamas especially since I have been in hospital and needed something pretty to wear. Everything washed well. Only criticism is jewellery – although ordered and kept 2 bracelets i do think they are overpriced – look better on the website. All in all a happy customer who will return.”

“My studded ballet flats arrived today, really lovely, very soft, very chuffed! Also love the venus dress – I find some of your clothes come up quite big, so went down to a size 8 for this dress, but have a 10-12 in the striped tank top. Unfortunately, the slim jogging bottoms weren’t me – look great in the pic, and the 3/4 sleeve tee was a bit average for the price, though it was a thick, soft cotton.
Please get some more of the metallic sandals in – I love them.”

“I’ve always found the Hush literature very enticing and so I decided to place an order. The staff on the phone were very polite and my order came quickly. I was surprised not to be able to order on the phone before 9.00 (at least no one picked up before then) as between 7.30 and 9.00 is a good time to place an order before work. I was also surprised and disappointed to have to wait for some items and go on a waiting list for others. My items ordered were of very mixed quality- two items were substandard and one was utterly lovely.”

In relation to items on back-order, we do try our best and have re-ordered multiple times this season, but with some items it is simply very difficult to forecast demand so apologies for any disappointment caused. The only slight gripe is that my husband tried to place an order in the previous week as a birthday present for me, but he was doing it on an ipad and the order simply wouldn’t go through.
