Berndnaut Smilde's indoor clouds

Believe it or not, no digital tricks were used to create these images.  In fact, they were created by Dutch artist Berndnaut Smilde.

With the use of a smoke machine and careful manipulation of temperature, lighting and humidity, Smilde has been conjuring single white clouds out of thin air for his photography series, ‘Nimbus’. The delicate displays exist for a few moments before evaporating into a haze, leaving just the photograph as proof of their existence.

We love the simple, powerful indoor spaces he uses – what do you think?
