After taking redundancy from a 15 year career in finance, busy mum Amanda Start turned her focus to fashion for the 40-plus and started up The Online Stylist, a blog packed with practical advice and fashion inspiration.
We asked her to style five hush items with her own wardrobe to create five chic looks for a #FiveDaysOfStyle challenge. We were thrilled with the results, but which look is your favourite?
Day One: The Cable Knit Cardi Coat
"Not only did the cable knit cardi appear on this day but I also had to be manually extracted from it for pretty much the rest of the week whilst working from home. Its getting to that time of year when I sit shivering at my desk so I think this piece of clothing and I are going to become very good friends."
Day Two: The Fine Knit V Jumper
"I’m a layers girl...love them and as far as I’m concerned the more the merrier come autumn and winter. Hush have some perfect layering pieces including this fine knit v-neck – I love the softness of it paired with a leather skirt. I think this is going to be a really versatile top for me this season."
Day Three: The Knitted Henley
"The knitted Henley is the perfect laid back accompaniment to Michael Kors [sequined trouser] opulence. Of course this would look great with jeans and is perfect for lounging... but I was in the mood for zhuzzing it up here for an evening out."
Day Four: The Skinny Cords
"I have a feeling these burgundy skinny cords and I are going to become VERY good friends this winter – they’re the perfect pull on and go piece for hurried morning, school run chic. Which was exactly what this turned out to be whilst fitting in blog photos! They’re beautifully soft to wear, a real change from denim and I love the colour for autumn and winter."
Day Five: The Cashmere Cap Sleeve Tunic
"Cashmere is my catnip – if I could wear it everyday I would. This tunic dress is the perfect transitional piece and works as well belted over jeans as it does when worn with some good opaques and a pair of ballet pumps under the cardi coat."
