I imagine your Valentine's Day will follow a pretty similar pattern to mine.
The champagne breakfast in bed, the two dozen roses, the candlelit dinner at the local Gordon Ramsay restaurant, the Tiffany diamond necklace (non-conflict stone, of course)...
Yeah, right! He doesn't even remember my birthday, so I don't hold out much hope for grand romantic gestures to mark the feast day of some obscure 3rd Century martyr.
That's not to say that anyone should feel they have to spend a lot of money to make Valentine's Day special.
Just a little gesture is all we expect, which is why I thought this idea was quite clever - using a heart-shaped pastry cutter to make fried eggs.
If you click on the image to the left, you will receive detailed instructions on how to proceed, but really all you need to do is put the pastry cutter smooth side down to avoid scratching the pan and hold it down when you crack the egg into it.
If you don't like fried eggs, then you can use the same idea to make toast or whatever else you fancy.
Or - even better - get the love of your life to do it for you!
