In conversation with... Amy Bradford

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Amy Bradford and I'm Features Director at ELLE Decoration magazine.

What's your favourite part of your job?

Writing about scent - I'm obsessed with it - and being sent all the beautiful coffee table books before they hit the shelves.

How do you relax/switch off?

With a cup of Earl Grey tea and a good DVD. or, if I get the chance to be out of London, a long walk in the woods always de-stresses me.

Favourite book?

The one I would take to a desert island would be Proust's In Search of Lost Time. It's huge but it's worth the effort - it's someone's whole life, their whole consciousness, in a book. And it's so intensely evocative of another era.

Favourite film?

Monsieur Hulot's Holiday. I love all of Jacques Tati's films, and this one is funny, charming and sad all at once.

Favourite blog/website?

I'm totally addicted to US feminist website Jezebel (jezebel.com)

What’s your guilty pleasure?

My Isabel Marant shoe collection.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

"Never let someone else dictate how you feel." Thanks, Mum!

What are you listening to at the moment?

Lots of classical piano music - Chopin, Schubert, Satie - and Goldfrapp's most recent album, Tales of Us.

What's your favourite piece from the hush spring summer collection?

I love the relaxed trousers - they're really flattering and I know I'll be wearing them all summer.
