In conversation with... Desiree Groenendal

Who are you and what do you do?
I am Desiree Groenendal, blogger at interior design blog vosgesparis.com and on amsterdamnext.com a local’s city guide with a focus on lifestyle and interior design.

Where did you work beforehand?
I have worked for years as a social worker, organising regular meetings for mums and their young children to socialise with other parents from the neighbourhood.

How do you relax/switch off?
To relax I go outside, I walk and wander through town or take the train to the beach. I can also really enjoy a good coffee on some sunny terrace.

Favourite book?
I am mostly busy online and have to admit I haven’t read a book for years. I do enjoy photo books and interior design books. And I read lots of magazines from interior to fashion.

Favourite film?
I really love to watch Amelie, and French movies in general. And I grew up with Italian classics in black and white. The newer Italian movie ‘La vita e bella' is I think really sad and beautiful at the same time.

Favourite blog/website?
I love the blog of Hannah Lemholt and the Love warriors website, they show dreamy pictures and an unique style, my online place to relax!

What’s your guilty pleasure?
"peanut butter & banana sandwiches.”

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
It’s just paint! You can repaint it. When I couldn’t decide what shade of grey to use.

What are you listening to at the moment?
Listening a lot to Kent at the moment, as I discovered some old cd’s in a box and I always love listening to my favourite band Placebo.
