Donna Hay is Australia’s version of Delia Smith, except she’s probably a bit groovier than Delia. More like Martha Stewart…without the prison sentence.
In fact, the only thing criminal about Donna is how good her food tastes.
What I love about her book The Instant Cook is that everything is so simple – the ingredients are easy to find, the preparation is straightforward and the recipes themselves don’t demand any great culinary skill.
She also has had the great idea of including variations of the same recipe, so you can effectively cook the same thing three times and produce three different dishes at the end of it.
None of the dishes take more than a few minutes – which makes it the perfect guide for people like me who love their food but hate the kitchen!
