Unwind with: Helen Shaw, founder of Sheepskin

How did Sheepskin come about?

Through Adam’s and my love of beautiful and inspiring places to spend our precious holiday time and relax in but also our disappointment in what we found available at the time.
We knew there are many like-minded people who search for and appreciate great places to stay so we went in search and formed Sheepskin to share some of the inspiring and undiscovered places we found.

How do you relax/switch off?

Last year I started to learn to play saxophone, a great way to switch off (as long as the neighbours can’t hear!). At the weekends, when time allows, I love to get out into the outdoors walking, mountain biking and in the winter Snow boarding (look out for Sheepskin snow it’s on our dream list at the moment!)

Favourite book?

Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables. Absolutely beautifully written and inspiring.

Favourite film?

I enjoy lots of different genre’s maybe a soppy classic like Brief Encounter.

Favourite blog/website?

I don’t really follow one avidly, I do enjoy Hush’s book and film reviews and every now and then catch up with katyelliott.com/blog. An interesting blog focused mainly on interiors and the renovation of a house in Vermont.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Cheese and wine! I love to curl up on the sofa with a glass of wine and a good book or a movie when it’s Adam and I!
