What was the inspiration behind Balance Me?
Balance Me was born out of a passion create a modern natural beauty range which focuses on using high performance, natural ingredients to help bring skin back into balance and protect our precious skin from daily wear and tear.
Our luxurious yet accessibly priced skincare is formulated using the very latest modern natural skincare chemistry to create beautiful textures with pure natural actives, botanical extracts and sophisticated blends of essential oils to keep skin looking radiant, plump and youthful, as well as smelling beautiful.
The brand was founded six years ago after a leading fashion retailer in London requested 200 Balance Me skin brightening exfoliating body polishes (now an Anti-ageing beauty bible award winner) for the VIPs attending their shoe department launch, which my sister, Clare and I had been making in our kitchen as part of our first business, Balance being. The request led us to seek a manufacturer and to cease making them in our kitchen! Balance Me was given a ‘pop up shop’ in the same store later that year and we have been building our brand ever since! Today Balance Me is available to buy online, throughout the UK and overseas thanks to strong retail and distribution partnerships.
How do you relax/switch off?
Practising Iyengar yoga and chilling out with my daughters and husband. We are currently enjoying cycling as a family as our youngest daughter has recently ditched her stabilisers!
Do you have a swear-by beauty product?
Balance Me’s Stellar Face Balm. I simply can’t live without it. It keeps all parts of my face and body super moisturised, plump and radiant. It would be my desert-island beauty product without a shadow of a doubt.
I am currently reading “The Help” by Kathryn Stockett. I can’t put it down. An all-time favourite is Harper Lee’s “To Kill a Mocking Bird”.
It is so hard to choose as I love so many. Probably “All about my mother” (Almodovar) and ‘The Big Blue’ (Luc Besson) (because my husband and I watched it on our first date, many moons ago)
I love www.beautybible.com as Jo Fairley and Sarah Stacey are so knowledgeable about beauty and I always learn something new. I am following Kate Shapland, www.thelegroom.blogspot.com blog as she is an authority on legs and I also follow Beauty Mouth, British Beauty Blogger and A model recommends.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Interior projects in my home. I am always looking at ways to change/update. It drives my husband crazy!
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
