Our Favourite UK Florists

We can always think of a reason to buy a blossoming bunch of flowers. The velvety petals, the delicate sweet smells, the way they make the house look just that little bit more put together - we never need an excuse. In fact, there are few things we like more than to mosey around flower markets, scroll through the new wave of digital florists’ sites and pop into independent shops to select our next stems. But where to buy, that is the question? They need to be fresh, well looked after and above all, they need to last. Happily, we’ve done the research and found exactly which UK florists will tick all of these boxes. Here are our favourite florists from around the country – if that’s not an invitation to treat yourself to a huge bunch of blush peonies, we don’t know what is…

Started by style maven and business woman sensation, Whitney Bromberg Hawkings, FLOWERBX has taken the digital floristry industry by storm over the last couple of years and with good reason. From black raspberry Ranunculus to tangerine Amaryllis, the range of blooms is exquisite, and they always arrive in perfect condition and beautifully arranged. You can read our 60-second interview with Whitney here. (She also shares her tips on getting the most out of your bouquet.)

Narcissus - Edinburgh

Based in Edinburgh, Narcissus operates from a gorgeous shop on one of the city’s most handsome streets, the winding Broughton Street. Creative and eclectic, the stems are always pulled together in a way that really shows off their natural beauty. No surprise then that this shop counts JK Rowling and even royalty among its customers.

Moyses Flowers - London

As London's oldest and most prestigious florist, Moyses Flowers have been filling the lives of Londoner's with flowers for over 140 years. And most recently, they installed a flourishing floral arch over the doorway of our Elizabeth Street pop-up, just in time for Chelsea Flower Show. Vibrant, evocative and exquisitely designed, their collection of bouquets highlights the natural beauty and vitality of flowers.

Wildflower – Newcastle

A floral design studio as well as a shop, Wildflower provides a range of services - from making up an understated bouquet to take to a dinner party to conceptualising the floral arrangements for a mega wedding. Never predictable, they merge lesser known flowers in unusual colour combinations to create something that feels natural and just blossomed.

Duck and Daffodils - York

A quintessentially British flower brand, Duck and Daffodils grow all of their flowers on a farm outside of York. Cut to order means they’re incredibly fresh and fragrant - no cold room chill here. Often paired with foliage, herbs and grasses too - their bouquets are beautifully unique.

Grace & Thorne - London

Although you can order online from Grace &Thorn, if you’re in London it’s worth checking out their shop in East London’s Hackney. From Lisianthus to Lily of the Valley, succulents to cacti – there are so many flowers and plants to choose from, it’s pure joy to pluck your favourites from the stands and have them deftly put together before your eyes.

Bloom & Wild - Online

If you don’t like your flowers too manicured, Bloom & Wild is for you. As well as creating the most beautiful rustic bouquets, they also offer a through-the-letterbox service meaning your flowers will arrive safely even if you’re not home. Genius, right?
