Sipsmith's easy Sit & Stay cocktail recipe

Is there anything better than winding down at the end of a summer’s day with a chilled G&T?

No, we didn’t think so either, but gin masters Sipsmith have used their years of expertise to come up with a gloriously refreshing mix that just might beat the classic combo to be our favourite sundowner for summer 2020.

The drink: the grapefruit and rosemary Sit & Stay. The recipe comes from Sipsmith’s latest cocktail book, SIP, which is filled with 100 brilliant gin cocktail recipes. What’s more, each tipple requires just three ingredients, meaning that you can (almost) go from shaking to sipping faster than you can say ‘Sipsmith’.

Now, onto the recipe…

50ml London Dry Gin
100ml fresh grapefruit juice
1 rosemary sprig
Salt (to garnish the glass)

  1. Moisten the rim of a rocks glass with a little grapefruit juice and dip it into a saucer of salt to coat the rim.
  2. Crack the rosemary sprig in three places, taking care not to break the stem, and add it to the glass. Add ice, gin and then the grapefruit juice. Stir.
  3. Remove the rosemary once the potency is where you like it, as keeping it in the glass will allow the rosemary flavour to eventually overwhelm the drink.
  4. Enjoy!
