And why should you have to? A dress might not always scream cosy, but that doesn’t mean it can’t make for a great cold-weather outfit. Here’s the key to styling dresses in winter: lay-er-ing. We’ve picked some of our favourite seasonal styles and made them frosty-morning appropriate, so you’ll never have outfit regret again. These are our top tips.
Add a scarf
If the neckline on your favourite dress isn’t keeping out the cold, bring a scarf into the picture. Extra-chunky scarves are having a moment, and we love picking a bright color that’ll really boost our mood as much as our outfit. Layer your knits

Wrap up in shearling
Not all jackets are created equal, and when winter properly gets underway, a shearling style will be your best friend. Those cold winds don’t stand a chance against the big, fluffy collar of our shearling biker, so it’s perfect for wearing with a dress that has a lower neckline. Choose thicker fabrics
One thing we love about winter is all the plush textures that we can wear from day to night. They’re thicker, warmer and have that luxe vibe that feels so right for darker evenings – and we think they’re great for dresses. Try a corduroy or velvet style with a pair of tights, and swap those trusty flat boots for a heeled pair when it’s time for festive drinks.
