HANNAH EMERY
Living more sustainably is not a destination, it’s a journey. And we’re proud to have now been B Corp Certified™ for 12 months. But, we’re by no means done – we’re always finding ways to do better for the planet and the people. Like supporting our fellow B Corps. From game-changing skincare to paint that’ll tempt you into colour-drenching your whole house, here are the ones our team are currently shopping and recommending. You might just find an unexpected new favourite, too.
Alpkit“Alpkit is a UK founded brand that was started in a garage in the Peak District, one of my favourite national parks! They design and make high-spec products that are great value. I particularly love their mission to make the outdoors accessible to everyone and their foundation, which gives grants to grass roots, direct action projects and positive game changers in planning adventures.” – Rebecca, Chief Trading Officer | The Cotswold Company“My parents are big fans of The Cotswold Company and, since pretty much all of my bedroom furniture is from there, I can vouch for how great it is. Made from either responsibly sourced timber or 100% certified materials, their furniture is known for being well made and built to last. Not to mention beautiful and great for handy storage solutions (I’m never short of a drawer!).” – Hannah, Writer |
Medik8“Medik8 isn’t about trendy ingredients; they focus on proven, science-backed formulas. And I love the real changes I’ve seen in my skin since using it. Their B Corp certification speaks to their commitment to auditing the 400+ ingredients in their supply chain to protect biodiversity, so it really feels like I’m supporting good practices. Medik8 has turned my skincare routine into a ritual, and I couldn’t be happier.” – Harri, HR Director | Change Please Coffee“Change Please doesn’t just fuel the Hush team with great coffee, they fuel real change – a great reason to choose them when you spot their stalls around London (or you can order their beans online). As a B Corp, 100% of their profits go towards training and employing people experiencing homelessness – offering housing, therapy, and essential support. I love this concept because it’s not always easy to find practical ways to support a cause, but this is a simple, everyday choice that makes a big impact with every sip.” – Cat, Senior HR Advisor |
Frugi“I love spending time with my niece. And, as a fashion-obsessed aunty, I also love treating her to new clothes. One of my favourite places to shop is Frugi – a people and planet conscious childrenswear brand. Dedicated to sustainability (and making pieces that withstand years of play) it’s great to know that I’m buying her something that’s equal parts good for the planet and lovely to wear.” – Amy, CRM Manager | Huel“This is one of my favourite brands because they make working towards a balanced diet really simple! My weeks are usually hectic, and I rarely have the time to sit down and properly plan meals, but Huel takes that stress away. I’m not a vegan, but I like that all their products are plant-based and still taste great. It’s also made me feel more confident about exploring more vegan options to reduce my carbon footprint. Plus, the variety of flavours keeps things interesting, so it never feels repetitive.” – Adam, Applications Support Apprentice |
Lick“Lick is a great company that makes decorating easy, from start to finish. They have some genius initiatives, like sticker colour samples that you stick on the wall to show the shade of the paint (no more tester pots). I also love their campaigns and collaborations – the recent Lick x M.A.C collab gave me lots of inspo that I can't wait to try out. Although there’s only so much painting you can do at once, so I should definitely try and pace myself.” – Kelly, Senior Digital Trading Manager | Petalon“When I received my first Petalon bouquet I remember being completely blown away by how pretty it was and how much it uplifted me. Their arrangements look like something you’d get from an independent florist on the cool side of town – all frothy and eclectic – nothing sterile or safe. It’s founded and run by a married couple who have a regenerative farm down in Cornwall and, wherever they can, they use their British-grown flowers to reduce their impact.” – Olivia, Senior Editor |
